What is cast glass?
Cast glass is glass with a texture formed into the material itself rather than applied on top of it. Speaking generally about how the industry makes it: the pattern is rolled or cast into the glass while it is still soft, so the relief is part of the pane and cannot wear off, scratch away or peel the way a surface film can.
That is the general description of the process, not a description of any particular pattern. We publish no pattern list, thickness range or origin here, because none of those is confirmed in writing yet. Why does cast glass take 45 days?

Treat the 45 days as a programme item rather than a delivery estimate. If cast glass is going into a partition, a door or a feature wall, it is almost always the longest-lead element in that package, so it should be specified and released first — ahead of the items you can source in a week. Working back from the site date is the only way this lands on time.
Is cast glass held in stock?

The consequence is one most buyers meet the hard way: a panel added late, a breakage on site, or a size discovered wrong after delivery is not a same-week top-up from stock. Why can cast glass only be cut on a water jet?

In general terms, ordinary glass cutting works by scoring a clean line on a flat face and then running a break along it. A cast, relief surface does not offer that flat even face, so a scored line has nothing predictable to follow. A water jet cuts instead with a high-pressure abrasive stream that does not depend on the surface being flat, and it will follow a curve or a cut-out just as readily as a straight edge.
What this means for you is simple and expensive to ignore: the cut list must be final and correct before cutting begins. There is no trimming a few millimetres off on site, and no re-cutting a smaller panel out of an offcut with a hand tool. Combined with the import lead time, a dimension error is not a re-cut — it is another order and another wait.
What size does cast glass come in?
The standard size is 4 feet by 10 feet. [as heard] Set your panel layout against that
sheet before the design is frozen. Where the sheet ends, a joint has to fall, so panel widths,
door leaf sizes and the rhythm of a partition are all easier to resolve on paper than after the
container has been booked.

Tell us the texture or reference you are matching, and give us your site date so we can check it against the 45-day import lead time and confirm the ordering dates back to you.
