What is tinted glass?
Tinted glass is glass that carries a colour instead of being clear. ARG lists it inside the
interior glass range and states that it comes in different tints. [as heard]
That is the whole of what we can put a source behind today, and this page is not going to pad it out. Everything below is either general glass-industry background, clearly marked as such, or a question worth asking us directly.
Which tints does ARG supply?
Ask us. There is no shade list on this page because we do not yet hold one in writing — what has

How is a body tint different from a coloured coating?
This is general industry background rather than a spec for any particular pane. A body-tinted glass takes its colour from the melt: the colourant sits in the glass itself, so the colour runs right through the thickness of the sheet. A surface-coloured glass takes its colour from a layer applied to one face.
The difference shows the moment a pane is worked. Cut a body-tinted sheet and the fresh edge is the same colour as the face, so an exposed or polished edge reads as part of the same piece. Cut a surface-coloured sheet and the edge shows the substrate beneath the layer, and the coloured face then has to be handled carefully and specified as the inboard or outboard face of the assembly.
Thickness matters too. Because a body tint is in the glass, a thicker pane reads deeper in colour than a thinner one of the same tint, so two thicknesses will not look identical side by side. If your job mixes thicknesses, say so in the enquiry.
Where does tinted glass sit in ARG’s range?
Under interior glass, alongside designer, textured, fabric, lacquered, satin or matte finished, and
cast glass. [as heard] The range is organised by where the glass is used rather than by how it is
processed, so tinted glass sits with the other interior products even though the colour itself is a
property of the sheet.
Why does this page carry no performance figures?
Because any light transmission, solar factor, U-value or shading number you have seen quoted for a tinted product belongs to the company that made that glass, and it changes with the tint, the thickness and the build-up it goes into. We will not reprint a number we cannot stand behind. Tell us the tint and thickness you are considering and we will talk it through.
What ARG needs from you to quote
The tint or colour reference you are working to — a physical sample or a photograph beats a name — plus the thickness, the final sizes in millimetres, the quantity, the edge finish, and whether any edge will be visible in the finished job. Tell us if the pane needs further processing and we will confirm what is possible for that tint. If you are not yet fixed on a shade, send the drawing or the sample on WhatsApp and we will come back with what is actually available.

Which tints can ARG supply?

Is tinted glass the same as coloured glass or lacquered glass?

Can ARG give U-value, solar factor or light transmission figures for a tint?
